AB  - The glass was prepared by the standard melt-quenching technique. The crystallization of powder glass from the system Li2O-Al2O3-GeO2-P2O5 was studied. The investigations were performed under non-isothermal and isothermal conditions using the AAS, DTA, XRD and FTIR methods. The aim of this research was to study the ease of glass formation, crystallization and crystal structure of obtained phases. The results showed that the glass crystallizes by primary crystallization. LiGe2(PO4)3 was formed as the primary phase, until detectable traces of GeO2 were formed as secondary. The influence of particle size of the glass powder samples in the range 0-1 mm on the temperature of the DTA crystallization peak, Tp, the peak height (T)p and the parameter Tp2/(T)p was studied. It was demonstrated that for the particle size in the range of 0.05-0.35 mm surface and volume crystallization were significant, while the particle size >0.35 mm according to the volume crystallization was dominant.

Geological characteristics of the limestone deposit "Dobrilovići" - Loznica and its preparation for use in agriculture

AB  - The paper presents the geological characteristics of the limestone of the "Dobrilovići" deposit and the characterization of the trench sample. The technological scheme of limestone preparation, which is used to obtain suitable sizes for use in agriculture, is presented in the paper. Chemical analysis showed the presence of CaCO3 above 80% and CaO above 44.80%. The content of trace metals is low: Cr 21 mg/kg, Pb 3 mg/kg, and Ni 7 mg/kg. The mean value of the loss of ignition is 39.40%, and the pH is 8.47. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that the chemical and mineral composition of limestone meets the requirements necessary for the calcification of acidic soils. The results of the determination of the granulometric composition showed the dominant presence of large classes above 50 mm (68%). To obtain a class of 100% -2 mm that meets the requirements for application in the calcification of acidic soils, a technological scheme for the preparation of trench limestone is given, which includes crushing, grinding, and grading.

Influence of natural minerals on contaminated solutions pH values

AB  - The protection and arrangement of agricultural areas in order to obtain health-safe food is extremely important to know the mobility of heavy metals lead, cadmium, zinc and uranium as radionuclides. This research investigated the influence of mineral raw materials (apatite and zeolite) on the mobility of heavy metals and radionuclides in a column system with constant pressure at different pH values (5.0 and 7.0). The tested solutions were contaminated with metals (lead, cadmium, zinc and uranium), in a concentration of 300 mg/l in time intervals of 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes. It was experimentally determined that there were significant changes in the pH value of the filtrate. The results showed that both apatite and zeolite successfully immobilized lead at both pH values. Uranium immobilization was better performed in columns with apatite, zeolite showed better properties in cadmium immobilization, and tests on a solution contaminated with zinc showed that both apatite and zeolite show similar affinity. The obtained results were statistically processed using the method of two-factor analysis of variance with repeated measurements. Further research will be based on monitoring the morphophysiological properties of underground and aboveground parts of plants on contaminated soil samples when apatite and zeolite are applied.

Mechanochemical synthesis of strontium titanate

AB  - In this work, SrO and TiO2 were mechanochemically activated for 520 minutes. The X-Ray Diffraction Analysis determined that strontium titanate was obtained. The starting components reacted in an amount of 99.1%. Phase changes during the reaction were analyzed and the dynamics of mechanochemical synthesis were defined. The occurrence of an intermediate compound (activated complex) on the reaction path from the reactant to the stable product of the reaction was assumed and experimentally proven. The rate constant of the mechanochemical neutralization reaction between strontium oxide and titanium oxide is defined. A mathematical relation with the basic thermodynamic and other physicochemical parameters of the process was established.

AB  - Zeolites are a group of natural and synthetic inorganic compounds. They have specific physicochemical properties suitable for industrial application [1,2]. According to their origin, variety of chemical composition, structural characteristics and application, zeolites form a specific group of minerals within the tectosilicates. In sedimentary formations rich in zeolites, the most characteristic minerals that are present are: clinoptilolite/hailandite, chabazite, mordenite, erionite, phillipsite and analcime. The most widespread zeolite of sedimentary origin is represented by the HEU series (clinoptilolite-heylandite). Its general crystal chemical formula is (Na,K,Ca)6Al6Si30O72nH2O.. Based on chemical and X-ray powder diffraction analysis, it is not possible to separate clinoptilolite and hoylandite . This is due to their isostructural nature. To identify these two isostructural minerals, even today, the simplest so-called Mampton's test [3]. Mumpton [4]. The results of X-ray diffraction analysis of thermally treated clinoptilolitic tuffs from the Zlatokop and Beočin deposits will be presented in this paper. The interplane distance values will be shown in the characteristic temperature range from 400oC to 500oC (when the first polymorphic transition occurs). These values characterize the zeolitic tuffs of our deposits in a certain way.

Hydrophobization of calcite by wet method using stearic acid

AB  - In this paper, the results of the modification of calcite with stearic acid using the wet method are presented. In the experiments, natural limestone with a high content of calcite (greater than 95 %) was used as the starting material. The calcite surface was modified with  different amounts of stearic acid - 1, 2, 3 and 4 %. The products were  haracterized by thermal analysis (DTA/TGA), polarization microscopy, IR analysis and by the evaluation of a floating test. The
results of the floating test showed that hydrophobicity of the calcite surface increased with increasing the amount of stearic acid on the calcite surface and that the hydrophobicity reached
over 99 % when the concentration of stearic acid was 2 %. Thermal analysis showed that at initial concentrations of stearic acid of 2 %, surfactant molecules are chemisorbed at calcite surface.

AB  - This research evaluates the effects of the acid environment on sulfur-polymer composite. For this purpose, a morphology investigation consisting of mathematical morphology analysis and SEM analysis was performed. Based on the obtained results, insignificant changes in the pore system of sulfur-polymer composite in terms of deterioration, pore distribution, and homogeneity were observed. Namely, no signs of severe damage were detected at the surface and inside the samples. With increasing the acid exposure time, the material exhibited further changes in the direction of homogenization and drowning of the aggregate in the sulfur binder compared with the starting structure. These facts indicate that sulfur-polymer composite can be effectively used as a construction material in an acid environment.

AB  - Mechanical activation of materials leads to qualitative changes in material structure. These changes can include the accumulation of energy in the form of weakening bonds in the crystal, disruption of the crystal lattice, agglomeration, and in some cases even the synthesis of a completely new substance. In this study, anhydrous sodium carbonate was mechanically activated for 28 minutes in a vibro mill at a frequency of 3000 oscillations per minute. After activation, the changes occurring in the activated material were monitored. The samples were placed in the atmosphere of air at room conditions for 31 days (relaxation period). It was observed that during the relaxation period moisture and carbon dioxide were absorbed by the activated sodium carbonate in form of hemisorption, forming sodium bicarbonate. The transformation mechanism was monitored by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy as a function of relaxation time. Characteristic groups were monitored: CO32-, HCO3- and OH-.

AB  - Concrete is a material that has been used for centuries and is often modified using polymers. In the last fifty years, synthetic polymers have been used for the modification of concrete, but also for the production of concrete. In recent decades, sulfur concrete has been an interesting product that can be used mainly in low-rise construction due to its characteristics. In this work, we used the starting mixture for the preparation of sulfur concrete (sand, elemental sulfur with the addition of modified sulfur and fillers) heated to a temperature of 120 ºC to 170 ºC and homogenized. The results of previous research on the production of sulfur concrete showed that the density of the obtained product changes depending on the type as well as the amount of filler added to the basic mixture based on raw materials. Talc, microsilicon, plate alumina and fly ash were used as fillers. The amounts of fillers were 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10%.

AB  - Zeoliti čine grupu prirodnih i sintetičkih neorganskih jedinjenja, koja poseduje specifične fizičko-hemijske osobine pogodne za industrijsku primenu. Zeolit, ""kamen koji ključa"" (grčki zeo = ključa; lithos =stena) je naziv za određenu vrstu prirodnih alumosilikatnih minerala, koji je potekao od švedskog mineraloga Kronšteda davne 1756. godine. Prema genezi, raznovrsnosti hemijskog sastava, strukturnim karakteristikama i primeni, zeoliti čine specifičnu grupu alumosilikatnih minerala u okviru grupe tektosilikata. Prirodni zeoliti se javljaju kao vodeni alumosilikati alkalnih i zemno-alkalnih metala. Prirodna zeolitska sirovina predstavlja za sebe rudnu stenu, koja sadrži zeolite, najčešće hojlanditske, šabazitske ili analcimske serije, do 80-95% sa mineralnim primesama vezanim za genezu datog ležišta. Stene koje sadrže zeolit, posle usitnjavanja i sejanja na frakcije određene krupnoće, u većini slučajeva bez obogaćivanja i druge bilo kakve prerade, koriste se kao gotov produkt u raznim granama industrije i poljoprivrede. Data je detaljna geološka karakterizacija prirodnih zeolita najznačajnijih srpskih ležišta. Veliki broj pojava i ležišta prirodnih zeolita piroklastičnog porekla (zeolitskih tufova) široko rasprostranjenih u miocenskim sedimentima Srbije kao što su: Zlatokop (Vranjski basen), Igroš, Jablanica 1 (Kruševački basen), Beočin (Fruška Gora), Toponica (Kosovska Kamenica) i Slanci (Dunavski ključ kod Beograda) predstavljaju ekonomski veoma važnu mineralnu sirovinu. Osnovni korisni mineral je HEU-tipa i uglavnom se radi o klinoptilolit-hojlanditskoj mineralnoj seriji.

Zeolitski tuf slanačke serije je predstavljen sivobelim do žućkasto bojenim agregatom, sa prisutnim limonitskim skramama koje zapunjavaju prsline i pukotine. Mineralni sastav zeolitskog tufa je: KVARC, FELDSPATI, LISKUNI, MINERALI ZEOLITA (iz grupe hejlandit /klinoptilolit), LIMONIT-GETIT, VULKANSKO STAKLO, MINERALI GLINA, CIRKON, APATIT, RUTIL. AB  - Nečistoće iz rovnog kvarcnog pesku uklanjaju se odgovarajućim postupcima pripreme kao što su: prosejavanje, klasiranje, atricijsko čišćenje, gravitacijska, magnetska, elektrostatička i flotacijska koncentracija i odvodnjavanje. Koji će postupak biti izabran zavisi od sadržaja i vrste nečistoća, kao i od načina njihovog pojavljivanja. Postupci pripreme kvarcnog peska se mogu značajno poboljšati pravilnim pristupom i vođenjem samog postupka čime se daje veliki doprinos zaštiti životne sredine. Preduslovi za postizanje ovog cilja baziraju se na: smanjenju potrošnje vode i koncipiranju postupka tako da se upotrebljena voda reciklira i dalje koristi kao povratna voda, da se otpadna voda iz flotacijske koncentracije prečisti pre nego što se ispusti u okolinu i da se izvrši optimizacija potrošnje električne energije u svim fazama procesa.

wear resistance. The chemical and phase composition, as well as microstructure of the alloy directly affect the mechanical  properties. In this investigation, CoCrMo alloy samples were obtained by vacuum precise casting. The procedure of  melting and casting process as well as their parameters are given. Molds fabricated of copper, gray iron, steel, ceramics  and graphite were used during the casting process. In this way, the cooling rate influence on the obtained microstructure  was examined. Besides, different casting temperatures (1400°C, 1450°C and 1500°C) were applied for each kind of mold.  After metallographic preparation, the microstructure was examined on the cross section of samples by optical microscopy.  The obtained results show that by increasing the cooling rate, the microstructure of samples become finer and more  homogeneous.

AB  - Prema prikazanom pronalasku obezbeđen je postupak za dobijanje smese za gašenje požara na bazi domaćih sirovina koja je primenom magnezijum stearata dobila hidrofobna svojstva, čime je spečena mogućnost kondenzacije i aglomeracije smese bilo u aparatu za gašenje požara ili u skadištenom prostoru. Suština ovog pronalaska je da se na jednostavan i efikasan način pripremi odgovarajuća smesa za gašenje požara na bazi domaćih sirovina, da se time izbegnu troškovi uvoza inostranih smesa za gašenje požara. Pripremljena smesa je suvi hidrofobni prah koji može da se koristi za gašenje svih klasa požara. Zahvaljujući magnezijum stearatu koji je dodat pripremljenoj smesi, dobijena je hidrofobna smesa koja se ne kondenzuje, ne zgušnjava se i ne menja svoja fizička i hemijsja svojstva sa vremenom stajanja.

AB  - The aim of this research was to obtain an initial characterization 
of  the  BaO  and  TiO2
components,  as  well  as  to  conduct  preliminary 
research into the possibility of activating the initial components in order to
obtain barium titanate. Chemical and X-ray structural analysis of the initial 
components  was  performed.  In  order  to  determine  the  possibility  of 
applying a mechanochemical activator and the activation time in which the 
first intermediate compounds were formed by the activation of the starting 
substances, the system was activated for 30 minutes. After this, an X-ray 
structural analysis was performed and certain changes in the crystal lattice 
of  the  starting components  were  made. X-ray  structural analysis  showed that  during  grinding,  amorphization  of  the  initial  components  occurred, 
which is the first stage in the process of obtaining titanate, as well as the 
presence  of  a  small  amount  of  barium  titanate,  which  is  indicating  the 
presence of an intermediate compound in the process of finally obtaining 
barium titanate.

AB  - This paper presents a comparative analysis of microstructural parameters by the powder X-
ray diffraction method on a polycrystalline sample and the fractal analysis. The presented
results of microstructural parameters are obtained by crystallographic programs FullProf
based on the Rietveld method. The synthetic Ba/Ca-celsian sample has been used for
microstructural parameters analysis. The feldspar sample has been synthesized by the
thermal induction phase transformation process of ion exchange Ca-LTA zeolite with Ba
cation. After the ion exchange Ba/Ca-LTA, the sample was heated at the temperature of
1300°C and the structure of Ba/Ca-feldspar was determined by the X-ray powder diffraction
analysis. The X and U shape parameters that contribute to the strain have been reconstructed
by fractal interpolation. Once we can reconstruct the shapes, which are quantum mechanics
effects, we should provide the data for predicting desired parameters mentioned previously.
We reported in this paper the successful application of this advanced and deep
microstructure analysis, which confirmed original fractal copies based on the presented
morphology characterization.

AB  - U radu je prikazan značaj reciklaže otpada na bazi karbonatnih mineralnih sirovina nastalog
u oblasti građevinarstva. Ova vrsta otpada može negativno da utiče na životnu sredinu ako
se sa njime ne postupa na propisan način. Reciklaža je jedino rešenje za smanjenje količine
građevinskog otpada koji se nalazi na deponijama. Kako bi se građevinske firme stimulisale
da prihvate reciklažu otpada, kao sastavni deo svog poslovanja, države sprovode različite
strategije za unapređenje primene reciklaže u praksi. Podsticaj reciklaže, korišćenja

Possibility of obtaining magnesium titanate by mechanochemical process in a high-energy vibro mill

AB  - In order to investigate the possibility of obtaining magnesium titanate, oxides of magnesium
and titanium were mechanochemically activated. Mechanical activation was performed for
1000 min in a high-energy vibro mill (engine power is 0.8 kV). The optimal amount of
powder activated in the mill is 50-100 g, so according to the stoichiometric calculation, the
composition of the starting mixture was 20.2 g (0.5 mol) MgO and 39.9 g (0.5). mol) TiO2.
X-ray diffraction analysis of samples taken from the reaction system was performed after 60,
180, 330 and 1000 min of mechanical activation. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry was
used to analyze the current chemical composition of the system, depending on the time of
activation. Based on the results of X - ray diffraction analysis, it can be concluded that the
greatest changes in the system occurred at the very beginning of mechanical activation due to
disruption of the crystal structure of the initial components. X-ray diffraction analysis of the
sample after 1000 min of activation showed complete amorphization of the mixture, but no
diffraction maxima characteristic of magnesium titanate was identified. Therefore, the
mechanical activation experiments were stopped. The fact is that the invested energy was not
enough to overcome the energy barrier for the formation of a new chemical compound -
magnesium titanate. The inability to synthesize magnesium titanate is explained by the low
negative Gibbs energy value of -25.8 kJ / mol (despite the theoretical possibility that the
reaction will occur), as well as the amount of mechanical energy that entered the system
during activation that is insufficient to obtain the reaction product. Although the synthesis of
MgTiO3 has not been achieved, significant results have been obtained that identify models for
further research into the possibility of mechanochemical reactions of alkaline earth metals and
titanium dioxide.

X-Ray diffraction analysis of mechanically activated natural zeolite

AB  - In this research, preliminary investigations of the influence of mechanical energy during the
milling process on a sample of natural zeolite were performed. Activation was performed in a
mill with a ceramic vessel and ceramic balls for 15, 30 and 60 minutes. The XRD method was
used to determine the phase composition. The XRD patterns were obtained on a Philips PW-
1710 automated diffractometer using a Cu tube operated at 40 kV and 30 mA. All the XRD
measurements were performed at room temperature in a stationary sample holder. Crystallite
domain size were calcuclated using SiroQuant v4 software. The mineral composition of the analyzed sample is as follows: clinoptilolite-heulandite zeolite types, smectite/chlorite
minerals, quartz, feldspars, mica, and irregularly interstratified clay minerals. Crystallinity
degree of all present phases decreases with activation time in comparison to the non-activated
sample. Crystallite domain size for diffration maximum (020) of non-activated sample was
533 Å (FWHM 0.240 o), and decreases with acitivation time to 202 Å (FWHM 0.275 o) for
sample activated 60 min.

Sustainable development in a multiflicted solution environmental pollution

AB  - We are witnessing increasingly rapid and pronounced climate changes caused not only by natural processes, but also by increasing environmental pollution, which is a direct consequence of human activity. Population growth as well as technological and economic progress have a negative impact on the environment, and in recent decades, sustainable development and water security have been imposed as inevitable in solving the water-food-energy relationship. Water safety is the primary task in the project to mitigate the impact of environmental pollution at all world levels of structures. In 2015, the United Nations, with its 193 members, revised the agenda planned for 2030, which consists of 17 goals that are primary in the future, including social inclusion, environmental sustainability, justice, peace, economic development, good governance and partnership. One of the main goals of sustainable development is the central focus, and it refers to clean water and sanitation. This paper provides an overview of some global trends in wastewater treatment in relation to domestic methods of mine water purification. In the continuation of the research, the goal of the work was the valorization of man-made mineral raw materials (secondary sulfur and fly ash), which creates an environmentally acceptable and useful material from the mentioned ecologically hazardous substances, mass applicable primarily in construction, but also elsewhere. In addition, the project is focused on the removal of heavy metals from acid mine wastewater using pelletized fly ash as a sorbent that will be further used for the synthesis of sulfur concrete. The production of sulfur concrete implies the use of secondary sulfur from oil refining as a substitute for Portland cement binder in conventional concrete, which achieves a significant environmental and economic benefit.
The project includes several aspects useful in Europe and the world, such as obtaining new materials and using waste resources, which has a very important impact on environmental protection, as well as an important economic aspect. Since these fields are relatively young, their further development and application of the obtained results in the industry is expected in the future.

minute was used for 28 minutes. After activation, samples were placed for 31 days in the air at room
conditions. In aim to monitor the kinetics of the transformation process of sodium carbonate to
bicarbonate, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis was used. As a function of
relaxation time characteristic groups were observed: CO3
2-, HCO3
- and OH-. The obtained results
provided kinetics parameters for the transformation of carbonate into bicarbonate as a result of
chemisorption of moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

AB  - There is a growing problem in the world of eliminating carbon dioxide and the atmosphere,

temperature on Earth. Cutting large green areas in order to obtain space for cattle breeding is
especially present in Brazil and Argentina. Increasing CO2 concentrations and rising air
temperatures are leading to the melting of large ice masses causing rising sea levels. That is
why the issue of eliminating carbon dioxide from the air is a priority in environmental
protection. Sodium carbonate samples were activated for 1 to 28 minutes in a vibro mill. The
increase in the free surface area of the activated samples was monitored by the BET method,
and the state of the crystal lattice by the diffraction method. The analysis of the results
showed a significant increase in the free surface of the activated material as well as
significant changes in the crystal structure of the samples due to grinding in a vibro mill. Such
activation of sodium carbonate would enable a significant increase in the sorption properties
of sodium carbonate and its application.

AB  - U radu je prikazan značaj uvođenja informacionih tehnologija (IT) u oblast rudarstva, kao i
značaj održivosti tehnologija i održivog razvoja. Savremenim tehnologijama prevazilazi se konvencionalni
način eksploatacije mineralnih sirovina što direktno utiče na povećanje, kako obima proizvodnje, tako i
ostvarenog profita. Međutim, mora se voditi računa o održivosti same tehnologije i održivom razvoju što
direktno doprinosi održivosti prirodnih resursa. Prirodni resursi su neobnovljivi ili teško obnovljivi i zato je
veoma važno analizirati sve aspekte uvođenja novih tehnologija. Neophodna je planska i kontrolisana
eksploatacija svih mineralnih sirovina. Takođe, sve rudarske aktivnosti mogu da imaju negativan uticaj na
životnu sredinu i trajno degradiraju prostor gde se vrši eksploatacija. Uvođenjem novih tehnologija stvara se
mogućnost praćenja svih parametara relevantnih za procenu tih uticaja. Svetske kompanije su u obavezi da
svojom transparentnošću u poslovanju obezbede uvid u moguće ekološke posledice svog poslovanja i ukažu na
mere koje će preduzeti u cilju njihovog sprečavanja. Jedino na taj način rudarski sektor može da bude
pozicioniran kao moderan i okrenut održivoj ekonomiji u budućnosti. Na koji način će se poslovanje
prilagoditi današnjem modernom pristupu organizacije zavisi od sposobnosti menadžmenta da ažurira
informacije u realnom vremenu, donosi odluke i izvršava ih na vreme. Usvajanjem informacionih praksi i
automatizovane tehnologije povećava se učinak aktivnosti koje menadžment sprovodi. Uopšteno govoreći,
održivost, bez obzira da li se radi o menadžmentu, tehnologiji ili razvoju, je sposobnost održavanja ravnoteže
određenih procesa ili stanja u nekom sistemu bez obzira na tehnološki napredak i modernizaciju poslovanja.
Status održivosti imaće samo ono što uvek daje pozitivne rezultate i nema negativnih posledica na ljude,
životni prostor, ekosisteme i biljni i životinjski svet. Održivi razvoj i informacione tehnologije, koje se brzo
razvijaju, su usko povezani. Informacione tehnologije su pokretač globalizacije i povezivanja na svim
nivoima. Zato je danas moguće uraditi sistematsku procenu direktnih i indirektnih uticaja primenjenih
tehnologija na životnu sredinu. Polazna platforma je interakcija ekonomskih, ekoloških i društvenih pitanja.
Društvo mora da raspolaže informacijama o potencijalnom riziku i uticaju na održivi razvoj, posebno kada
se radi o životnoj sredini. Koliko je to značajno svetska naučna javnost je pokazala uvođenjem tzv. informatike životne sredine. Informatika životne sredine je disciplina primene informacionih i komunikacionih
tehnologija u istraživanju, planiranju i zaštiti životne sredine. Njen osnovni cilj je da se sva naučna otkrića u
bazičnim naukama i informacionim tehnologijama primene za rešavanje različitih ekoloških problema. Na
taj način se unapređuje i stvara sve jača sprega između nauke i tehnologije i daje doprinos razvoju održivih
rešenja koja su naučno utemeljena i ekonomski isplativa.
