AB  - The part of the results, obtained during the technological investigations of the ore
from the deposit ’’Cerovo-C2’’ deposit - Cementation zone, are presented in this paper.
Investigations were undertaken at different flotation conditions (three collectors and grinding
fineness) in order to define possibility and optimal conditions for processing the ore from this
deposit. Obtained results indicate the possibility for producing the copper concentrate with the
commercial quality. Best results were obtained with the collector Flomin C4132 and grinding
fineness of 80 % below 0.074 mm, where the copper content in the rough concentrate was 4.64 %
and the copper recovery was 81.74 %.

AB  - This paper covers the results of pelletizing fly ash in order to obtain pellets, with satisfied mechanical properties, that can be used in wastewater treatments. Serbian fly ash from “Nikola Tesla” power plant was used as a low cost sorbent. Fly ash was subjected to elementary and XRD analysis. Portland cement was used as a pelletizing agent along with the plastification agent. The mechanical properties of pellets were investigated using different methods such as: pressure resistance, impact resistance, resistance to abrasion, and disintegration in water. The best results were obtained with the addition of 10 % of cement along with the plasticizer.

AB  - Mikronizacija pirofilita je veliki tehnološko-tehnički problem, iz razloga što klasične mašine za usitnjavanje, ne mogu, svojim procesnim uslovima, da ga mikroniziraju do finog i posebno veoma finog granulometrijskog sastava, koji je neophodan za nove savremene domene industrijke primene. Iz ovih razloga, neophodno je dobro poznavanje njihovih fizičko-hemijskih, mineraloških, mehaničkih osobina, i posebno mehanizama procesa njihovog finog usitnjavanja (mikronizacije).Detaljnim istraživanjima kinetike mikronizirajućeg mlevenja pirofilita, dobijeni su elementi za određivanje efikasnosti rada vibracionih i ultra-centrifugalnih mlinova, a samim tim stečeni su uslovi za definisanje kako tehnoloških parametara mikronizacije, tako i parametara proizvoda mikronizacije. U isto vreme, na osnovu detaljne fizičko-hemijske, mineraloške i rentgenske karakterizacije mikroniziranih proizvoda pirofilita, uočene su određene fizičko-hemijske promene u njihovoj strukturi (prelaz pirofilita u amorfno stanje), što je sigurno posledica rada pomenutih mlinova.

AB  - For the development of the Lost Foam refractory coatings with controlled rheologic properties, the influence of the mechanical activation process on the cordierite-based filler's properties change was examined. First of all, the test referred to the change offiller particles' size and shape, as well as to dispersion ability and stability of the coating suspension. Cordierite was obtained by synthesis in a solid state, out of the mass consisting of kaoline, alumina, quartz, sepiolite. For characterization purposes, the following methods were used: X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, SEM and optical microscopy. Mechanical activation of filler was performed in a vibrating mill. The upper boundary of the grain size was 100% -30 x 10-6 m, the times were (min): 15; 30; 60. The new composition of Lost foam refractory coatings has been developed with a change of the coating production process, as well. These newly synthesized coatings proved to be effective in terms of a positive influence on a surface quality, structural and mechanical properties of aluminium castings. Test results may be useful to have the Lost Foam refractory coatings specified together with other process parameters used for the production of castings according to this casting method.

AB  - Eksploatacija mineralnih sirovina i razvoj novih materijala nameću pitanje kako sačuvati životnu sredinu u eri velike ekspanzije novih tehnoloških procesa i kako smanjiti njihov negativni uticaj na prirodno okruženje. Imajući u vidu ograničene rezerve prirodnih resursa i negativni uticaj na životnu sredinu prilikom njihove potrošnje, bilo je neophodno uvesti nove pristupe i modele za njihovo održivo korišćenje. Principi održivog razvoja imaju za cilj usaglašavanje politike i strategije nacionalnog i socijalnog razvoja na takav način da se eliminišu svi negativni uticaji na prirodu i prirodne izvore koji su važni za sve vidove ljudskih aktivnosti u budućnosti. Zaštita životne sredine je izuzetno važana u svim zemljama i u direktnoj je vezi sa stepenom ekonomskog razvoja i nivoa edukacije stanovništa o značaju zdrave životne sredine I načinu njenog očuvanja. Ubrzani tehnološki razvoj dovodi do poboljšanja kvaliteta života u svim sferama ljudske aktivnosti, ali paralelno sa tim stvara se mogućnost veće degradacije životne sredine.

AB  - This paper analyzes the formation of cavitation damages depending on the technology of fabrication, structure and properties of basalt from the Vrelo-Kopaonik deposit. The methodology for monitoring the level of damage caused by cavitation and estimation the material life span base on parameters was developed: change in the mass loss, measurement the degradation level of the sample surface, dynamics of the formation of pits, changes in their average area surface, determination the line profile. A change in the surface morphology with the test time was followed by a scanning electron microscopy. The level of surface degradation of samples was quantified using the image analysis. The results indicate that the cast basalt has a high degree of cavitation resistance.

abstract = "This paper analyzes the formation of cavitation damages depending on the technology of fabrication, structure and properties of basalt from the Vrelo-Kopaonik deposit. The methodology for monitoring the level of damage caused by cavitation and estimation the material life span base on parameters was developed: change in the mass loss, measurement the degradation level of the sample surface, dynamics of the formation of pits, changes in their average area surface, determination the line profile. A change in the surface morphology with the test time was followed by a scanning electron microscopy. The level of surface degradation of samples was quantified using the image analysis. The results indicate that the cast basalt has a high degree of cavitation resistance.",

AB  - U Srbiji radi oko 200 rudnika u eksploataciji nemetaličnih mineralnih sirovina. Nemetalične mineralne sirovine su zastupljene u svim područjima Srbije i zauzimaju značajno mesto u privrednom razvoju, bilo da služe kao finalni proizvodi ili kao sirovine kod proizvodnje u prerađivačkoj i drugim industrijskim granama. Po raspoloživim količinama, kao i raznovrsnosti, ove sirovine su jedan od najznačajnijih domaćih prirodnih resursa. Skoro da ne postoje privredne grane koje ne koriste nemetalične mineralne sirovine.
 Osnovni cilj ovog referata je da se kroz sintezu raspoloživih podataka i dosadašnjih saznanja prikaže dostignuti nivo i potencijalne mogućnosti domaćih ležišta nemetaličnih mineralnih sirovina. Takođe, osnovni cilj je, da se sa raspoloživim podacima korišćenim u ovom tekstu dokumentuje određena zapostavljenost sirovinske baze nemetaličnih mineralnih sirovina u privrednom razvoju Srbije.

AB  - An experimental investigation has been made into the effects of different factors on the results of screening efficiency of polymer samples. The used polyvinyl chloride (PVC) samples have equal content of `small`, `large` and `small-to large` particles and filled the whole area of the sieve in one, two and four characteristic layers during the screening. Visual examination showed that the particle shape was similar in whole particle size distribution in the one sample tested. In addition to the aforementioned variable, the other factors studied included samples shape, vibrating amplitude and the duration of screening. Analysis of the obtained results of the screening rate in laboratory conditions was performed by applying the classical and modified model of the first order screening kinetics. The results showed that high loading of the sieve requires a larger vibrating amplitude for good classification and that the high layer reduction of sample is a more effective remedy for good efficiency than prolongation of sieving time. It has also been shown that the particles shape has a significant impact on the screening rate. The modified kinetics model (Magdalinović–Trumić) of the first order describes polymer screening kinetics with very good correlation coefficient in all cases. The application of the classical model is not adequate for determining a screening rate constant since the correlation coefficients are smaller than the minimum correlation coefficient.

AB  - This study presents investigations of zeolitic tuff samples from the “Igroš--Vidojevići” deposit. The aim of the research was to determine the quality of samples taken from all deposit parts. Thus, samples were taken from the footwall (“Zeolit 1”), and four samples from the central deposit part (“Zeolit 2”, “Zeolit 3”, “Zeolit 4” and “Zeolit 5”). Characterization of the samples included chemical analysis, determination of the adsorption coefficient for methylene blue dye and cation-exchange capacity (CEC), X-ray powder diffraction analysis (XRPD), differential thermal and thermogravimetric analysis (DTA and TGA), and Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopic analysis (FTIR). Results have shown that the footwall consists mostly of clays, whereas zeolite minerals dominate in the rest of the deposit. XRD analysis of the “Zeolit 1” sample confirmed presence of smectite and kaolinite clays, while zeolite of analcime type and quartz are present as smaller fractions. Chemical composition analysis and determination of heavy metal contents showed a significant amount (7.58%) of Fe2 O3 in this sample. Therefore, further research can be pursued to find a method for removal of magnetic impurities in this deposit portion in order to utilize the clay fraction. On the other hand, according to XRD, FTIR, DTA/TGA and SEM/EDS analyses, samples which belong to the central deposit part (“Zeolit 2–5”) consist of clinoptilolite zeolite type, while clays are present in less than 10%. Thus, clays (smectites and kaolinite) accompanied with analcime and quartz are the most abundant footwall minerals while central deposit parts contain predominantly clinoptilolite accompanied with small amounts of clays. Mineragenetically, zeolites are most abundant in the “Zeolit 2” and “Zeolit 3” samples. The smallest value of CEC was determined for the “Zeolit 1” sample (46.98 mmol/100g). According to CEC values determined for “Zeolit 2” and “Zeolit 3” (141.99 and 121.01 mmol/100 g, respect-ively) these samples are of the best quality, and could be utilized as adsorbents of inorganic pollutants from contaminated waters. Moreover, they could be potentially used for removal of mycotoxins from cattle feed. “Zeolit 4” and “Zeolit 5” samples have shown slightly lower CEC values (89.48 and 83.75 mmol/100 g, respectively), which implies lower quality, and, therefore, could be used for soil quality improvement. Finally, determination of the external CEC has revealed a significant difference between “Zeolit 1” and “Zeolit 5” samples (17.9 and 5.31 mmol/100 g, respectively).

With the increase in population density due to population growth and their gravitation towards big cities, as well as with the rapid advancement of industry, modern man creates far more waste than ever in the history of human society. Big progress of science and technology leads to the creation of new, more diversified products, which, due to the rise in living standards and altered consumer habits, have a much shorter life expectancy than earlier products, thus becoming much earlier a waste. All mentioned significantly complicates the collection and treatment of waste. On the other hand, as never before, waste represents a significant resource that can be used to generate energy or new products...

AB  - Ležišta naših zeolitskih tufova (Zlatokop, Igroš, Jablanica 1, Beočin, Toponica i Slanci) koja su ovde bila predmet detaljnih istraživanja, prostorno i genetski vezana su za vulkanske i vulkanoklastične stene marinskih sredina senonske i neogenske starosti i jezerske sedimente neogene starosti i nastala su kao produkt devitrifikacije vulkanskog stakla. Tokom laboratorijskih ispitivanja pri izradi ove doktorske disertacije, primenjene su sledeće analitičke metode: optička ispitivanja petrografskih preparata; rendgenska difrakcija praha (XRD); skenirajuća elektronska mikroskopija (SEM metoda); hemijska karakterizacija zeolitskih tufova u okviru koje je izvršeno određivanje hemijskog sastava i sadržaja teških metala i elemenata u tragovima, metodom atomsko apsorpcione spektroskopije (AAS); određivanje kapaciteta katjonske izmene-određivanje izmenjivih katjona Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ i K+ i određivanje ukupnog kapaciteta katjonske izmene (KKI) i metode termičke karakterizacije– termogravimetrijska i diferencijalnotermička analiza (DTA/TG metoda). AB  - Our zeolite tuff deposits (Zlatokop, Igroš, Jablanica 1, Beočin, Toponica and Slanci), which were the subject of detaild research, spatially and genetically are connected to volcanic volcaniclastic rocks of marine environment of Senonian and Neogene age, as well as lake sediments of Neogene age. Zeolitic tuff deposits were formed as a product of devitrification of volcanic glass. During the laboratory research following analytical methods: thin sections petrography; X-Ray Diffraction (XRD); Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM); chemical characterization (main elements, trace elements and heavy metal content) obtained by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (ААS); Cation Exchange Capacity of Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ и K+ (CEC ); themal characterization – thermogravimetric and differentlial thermal analysis (DTA/TGA). Specified analytical methods enabled the realization of the set goals of the research. Namely: – Overview of geological characteristics of Serbian zeolitic tuff deposits ad occurrences; – Defined detailed mineralogical and crystallochemical characterization of Serbian zeolitic tuff deposits; – Obtained detail technological characterization of Serbian zeolitic tuff deposits (XRD, DTA/TGA, SEM); – Defined genetic model of formation of zeolitic tuffs and determined disposition of Serbian zeolitic tuff deposits and occurences; – Specified application possibilities of different zeolite types in various branches of economic activities, including a view of obtaining certain products (in ITNMS-Belgrade) on the basis of zeolite minerals obtained from our deposits, and their application in the stated areas of the economy.

Differences in coating mechanism of structurally different aluminosilicates observed through the thermal analysis

AB  - Systematic modification of three structurally different minerals (zeolite, mica, and vermiculite) was carried out with the aim of determining the modification mechanism and exposing the hydrophobic surface that can be used as a sorbent for many organic compounds. Mechanism of modification with cationic surfactant depends strongly on the mineral type. In order to identify the influence of aluminosilicates structural differences on the modification process, adsorption experiments with organic matter and water vapor, supplemented with the DTA/TG analysis, were performed. The cation exchange capacity (CEC) value was 1454>560>28meqkg(-1) for zeolite (clinoptilolite), vermiculite, and mica (muscovite), respectively. Despite its CEC value, vermiculite adsorbed three times the amount of organic matter than did clinoptilolite due to the porous structure of zeolite, which acted to limit the adsorption only on the external exchangeable cations. If the loading amount is equal to the CEC or the external cation exchange capacity for clinoptilolite (ECEC approximate to 10% CEC), the monolayer will form while mineral surface will have hydrophobic character. Only one active center exists at the surface of the clinoptilolite that was identified by DTA curves with a sharp and defined peak around 300 degrees C and by the mass loss at the TG diagrams. Two significant and equal active centers were observed in vermiculite, one for the exchange of the surface cations and the other for the interlayer cations and H2O molecules. Muscovite CEC is negligible, and due to the absence of any other functional groups, the modification of this mineral was impossible.

The Bond work index of limestone and andesite mixtures

AB  - This paper investigates grinding of mineral mixtures with different grindabilities in the Bond ball mill. Understanding the ore mixture grinding is of great importance in mineral processing. The energy required for crushing and grinding is presented by the Bond work index and is determined by means of Bond grindability test. This paper presents the experimental results of the Bond work index values obtained by the standard method on limestone and andesite samples, as well as composite samples made up from these ore in different weight ratios. Comparatively are shown the Bond work index values that are obtained by the mass fraction of components that make up the composite samples calculation and their differences from the real value. During the Bond work index value determining, changes in the composition of the grinding products and circulating mill charge were monitored.

AB  - This study presents the results of an investigation of high temperature materials – refractory filler based on cordierite, mullite and zircon for the synthesis of new refractory pattern coating and application in foundry. In order to obtain better properties of refractory fillers, special attention in the research was devoted to the preparation of fillers by grinding and mechanical activation. The application of the fillers for the synthesis of refractory pattern coatings and use in the new EPC casting process for obtained aluminum alloys and steel casting was shown positive results.

AB  - For development of the refractory coatings with controlled rheologic properties, for application in new Lost Foam casting process, the influence of the mechanical activation on the talc-based filler’s properties change was examined. The test referred to the change of filler particles’ size and shape, as well as to dispersion ability and stability of the coating suspension. Optimization of the coating composition was attained chosing the right size and grain shape factor of the activated filler. In addition, different coating components were applied and the coating production procedure was altered. It was shown that application of this type of the water-based refractory coatings had a positive influence on surface quality, structure and mechanical properties of the aluminium alloy castings.

AB  - Because of its physico-mechanical and physico-chemical characteristics, fine-ground (i.e. micronized) limestone is widely applied in the production of new materials. Limestone can be used as a filler, coating and/or powder in ceramic composites. The effect of its fine micronization depends on the type of equipment used and on the disintegration process. In this study, the emphasis was placed on investigation of the kinetics of the dry micronization milling of limestone in a state-of-the-art ultra-centrifugal mill with a peripheral comminuting path. The efficiency of the ultra-centrifugal mill with a peripheral comminuting path was determined based on a detailed investigation of the limestone dry micronization, which satisfied all the requirements for technological parameters as well as for micronized product parameters. On the basis of the investigation of these parameters and theory of dry micronization conducted in a state-of-the-art mill with use of advanced instrumental techniques for determination and observation of the most significant physical and chemical characteristics, a kinetics model was developed to serve as the basis for quick and effective determination of micronization quality and efficiency. In this paper, the results of grinding in a Retsch ZM-1 ultra-centrifugal mill were analyzed in order to optimize and automate the process of ultrafine micronization.

AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja uklanjanja jona bakra primenom tri prirodna zeolita sa različitih lokaliteta (Vranjska banja-VB, Igroš-I i Baia Mare-BM). U cilju karakterizacije zeolita, izvršena su ispitivanja elementarnog sastava, kao i rentgenska (XRDP) i termijska analiza (DTA/TG). Kapaciteti katjonske izmene (CEC) ispitivanih zeolita VB, I i BM iznose 150,1, 169,2 i 176,5 meq/100g. Maksimalni adsorpcioni kapaciteti bakra na VB, I i BM zeolitima iznose 7,75, 8,51, i 11,18 mg/g. Na osnovu ostvarenih rezultata, dobijena je matematička zavisnost koja dobro opisuje vezu između vrednosti CEC i adsorpcionog kapaciteta za bakar. Ova lineralna zavisnost je testirana primenom različitih eksperimentalnih rezultata. Primenom ove zavisnosti moguće je da se predvidi vrednost adsorpcionog kapaciteta bakra na različitim zeolitima poznavanjem njegove CEC vrednosti. .
AB  - In this paper the ability of three natural zeolites from different localities (Vranjska banja-VB, Igroš-I and Baia Mare-BM deposits) to remove copper has been investigated. These three zeolites were subjected to the elementary analysis as well as XRDP and DTA/TG analysis due to complete characterization. Cation exchange capacity of VB, I and BM zeolites were 150.1, 169.2, and 176.5 meq/100g. The maximum adsorption capacity for the copper adsorption on VB, I and BM-zeolites were 7.75, 8.51, and 11.18 mg/g. Based on the obtained results the mathematical expression that describes correlation between the CEC and copper adsorption capacity has been developed. This linear dependance has been tested with the vast variety of experimental results. According to this expression it is possible to predict the copper adsorption capacity for different zeolites based only on their CEC value.

AB  - The effect of the combined actions of milling and hydrophobization procedures applied in construction composites synthesis was investigated. The mortars were prepared with cement (CEM I 42.5) and calcite aggregate complying the standard 1:3 mix ratio. The limestone filler (10 wt%) was added to the mixture upon its mechano-chemical activation in an ultra-centrifugal mill. The activation variables (milling time, rotor velocity, sieve mesh size) were altered to achieve the optimal quality of the powder. The treatment was optimized via chemometric tools. The r(2) values (0.955-0.998) of second order polynomial models accurately predicted the output and the Standard score analysis chose the optimal activation parameters: 4.25 min; 48.58 m/s and 80 gm sieve. The selected filler and all three aggregate fractions were coated with stearic acid via dry procedure. The mortar mixes, prepared with uncoated (M1) and coated (M2) aggregate and filler, were cured for a period of 28 days during which compressive strength and water absorption were monitored. The dimensional changes in mortars were estimated via TMA dilatometer measurements. Thermo-analytical methods (DTA/TGA) were applied in the thermal behavior analysis. Mineralogical and morphological changes in the structure of hardened composite were detected by XRD and SEM, respectively. Limestone aggregate led to lower final compressive strengths in mortar, but it produced an infinitesimally small shrinkage at 1000 degrees C. The hydrophobization via stearic acid initiated the decrease in water absorption and formation of needle-like micro-network that filled structural voids reducing open porosity. The assessment of the effects of limestone utilization as a filler and as an aggregate on the mortar performances confirmed that this novel water-repellent composite is applicable in structural design.

AB  - Ovaj doktorska disertacija bavi se istaživanjem usitnjavanja mineralnih mešavina sa različitim meljivostima u Bondovom mlinu sa kuglama. Razumevanje kako se mešavine različitih sirovina sa različitim meljivostima melju, od velike je važnosti u pripremi mineralnih sirovina. Energija neophodna za drobljenje i mlevenje pretstavlja se Bondovim radnim indeksom i određuje se pomoću Bondovog testa meljivosti, u Bondovom mlinu sa kuglama. Njegova vrednost je karakteristika rude i služi za dizajniranje industijskih postrojenja za usitnjavanje. Određivanje vrednosti Bondovog radnog indeksa je dosta komplikovano, zahteva utrošak vremena i obučeno osoblje za rad i zbog toga je podložno proceduralnim greškama. U radu je dat kraći pregled skraćenih postupaka za određivanje vrednosti Bondovog radnog indeksa zajedno sa uporednim rezultatima dobijenim ovim postupcima i standardnim Bondovim postupkom na različitim uzorcima. U ovoj doktorskoj disertaciji predstavljen je skraćeni postupak za određivanje približne vrednosti Bondovog radnog indeksa, koji se bazira na zakonu kinetike mlevenja prvog reda. Ovaj skraćeni postupak može da se radi sa dva, tri ili četiri ciklusa mlevenja, u zavisnosti od željene preciznosti traženog podatka. Ispitivanja su vršena na uzorcima andezita, krečnjaka, topioničke šljake i rude bakra, kao i na dvokomponentnim kompozitnim uzorcima andezita i krečnjaka i kompozitnim uzorcima topioničke šljake i rude bakra u različitim masenim odnosima. Ispitivanja su vršena standardnim Bondovim postupkom za određivanje meljivosti i skraćenim postupkom. Tokom izvođenja eksperimenata meljivosti na kompozitnim uzorcima andezita i krečnjaka, praćena je promena sastava proizvoda mlevenja i kružne šarže mlina za prvih devet ciklusa mlevenja standardnog Bondovog testa. Na osnovu rezultata meljivosti dobijenih standardnim Bondovim postupkom, pokazani su odnosi potrošnje energije za usitnjavanje, kada se komponente mešavine andezita I krečnjaka i mešavine topioničke šljake i rude bakra melju zasebno, i kada se melju zajedno kao mešavina. Predstavljene su uporedne vrednosti Bondovog radnog indeksa dobijene standardnim I skraćenim postupkom na svim jednokomponentim i dvokomponentnim uzorcima, koji su bili predmet ispitivanja ove doktorske disertacije. Takođe su pokazane greške koje se dobijaju skraćenim postupkom u odnosu na standardni postupak.
AB  - This doctoral thesis investigates grinding of mineral mixtures with different grindabilities in the Bond ball mill. Understanding the ore mixture grinding is of great importance in mineral processing. The energy required for crushing and grinding is presented by the Bond work index and is determined by means of Bond grindability test. Its value constitutes ore characteristic and it is used for industrial comminution plants designing. Determining the Bond work index value is quite complicated, time-consuming and requires trained operating personnel and therefore is subjected to procedural errors. The paper gives a brief abbreviated procedures overview for determining the value of Bond work index, together with the comparative results obtained by these methods and standard procedures Bond on various samples. A abbreviated method for the Bond work index approximate value determining, which is based on the first order grinding kinetics law, is presented in this doctoral thesis. This procedure can be performed by two, three or four cycles of grinding depending on the desired precision of the required data. Tests were conducted on samples of andesite, limestone, smelter slag and copper ore, as well as two-component composite samples of andesite and limestone and composite samples of smelter slag and copper ore in different weight ratios. The tests were performed by standard Bond procedure and abreviated procedure for grindability determination. During the Bond work index value determining, changes in the composition of the milling products and mill circulating load for the first nine cycles of standard Bond grinding test was monitored. Based on the results obtained by standard Bond grindability procedure, comminution energy consumption relations, when mixtures component andesite and limestone and mixtures component smelter slag and copper ore are grinding separately and together as a mixture, are presented. Comparative values obtained by standard and abbreviated Bond work index procedure for all single component and two component samples that were the subject matter of this doctoral thesis, are presented. The error of values that are obtained by abbreviated procedure compared to standard procedure, are also shown.

AB  - The stability of lead ethyl xanthate (ethyl xantate ion C2H5OCS2- , EX-) on galena (PbS) surface in an alkaline medium (pH=9-12) was investigated using ATR-IR and UV spectrophotometric methods. The prolonged time of mineral treatment with ethyl xanthate solution up to 4 hours, at pH=9.2, did not affect the surface adsorbed ethyl xanthate. However, within pH range 10-12, the decomposition of surface layer occurs. The ethyl monothiocarbonate ion EMTC- (monothiocarbonateCO2S2− ) is an intermediate product of lead ethyl xanthate decomposition.

AB  - This paper gives a review of results determining conditions of thickening and filtration of waste material from the flotation plant “Feldspar” – Bujanovac. This flotation plant last few years did not fuctiona as should be, and have many problems. Investigation of waste materials, should to enable recycling and re-use of flotation tailings. Tests of possibilities of thickening and filtration of the non-magnetic fraction of waste material sample of the class -0,063 mm after magnetic separation in laboratory conditions have been carried out within this research. Based on dewatering testing, time of thickening and calculated results have been determined.

AB  - The investigation was conducted with an aim to increase the reactivity of the comminuted phosphate ore and to establish the optimal mechanical activation period of the grain mixture. In order to obtain complete insight into the process and phenomena of the phosphate grain mixture activation, a good understanding of the theoretical principles of the activation operation is necessary. In the experiments, the vibratory and planetary mills were used as activators. The obtained results pointed out that both amorphous and crystallized forms appeared within the Lisina ore deposit mixture due to the specific genetic conditions which rarely occur in the deposits. Such a heterogenic composition of the useful phosphoric part of the ore gave a variety of the results during the leaching. For the first time, the experiments of phosphate (apatite) mechanochemical activation from Lisina ore deposit were performed in order to improve its reactivity.

AB  - This paper presents the results of a part of technological tests, whose aim was to determine the optimum techno-economic conditions for the flotation concentration of ore from the deposit Tenka-3 - North Mining District, Copper Mine Majdanpek. The given view refers to testing the effects of collectors NaIPX, 3418 A and 5500 AP, as well as the pulp pH value on the quality of concentrate from the primary flotation process. It was found that the majority of copper, gold and silver in the primary concentrate is obtained using the collector AP 5500. In addition, a better quality of primary concentrate was obtained at higher pH values of pulp in the tested pH range (10.0 - 11.5).

AB  - Natural clinoptilolite modified with a cationic surfactant stearyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride (SDBAC) was used as an adsorbent for the removal of pertechnetate from aqueous solutions. Adsorption studies were performed in a batch system. The effects of various experimental parameters (amount of surfactant loading, contact time, solution pH, competing anions) on the removal efficiency of TcO4 (-) were investigated. SDBAC-clinoptilolite with organo-bilayer was successfully used to remove TcO4 (-) from aqueous solutions in the pH range of 5.0-8.0. ReO4 (-) as an analogue of TcO4 (-) was used to model the isotherms. Adsorption capacity of the SDBAC-clinoptilolite and the mechanism of ReO4 (-) (TcO4 (-)) sorption were also determined.
