In this work, the possibility to obtain Portland Cement canker by sintering the mixture of raw materials originating from the Mining and Smelting Combine of Bor, on laboratorial scale, was investigated. The sintering mixture was composed of the limestone from the 'Zagrađje' plant, quartz sand from the 'Bela Reka' plant and tailings generated in flotation plant of the 'Veliki Krivelj' copper mine. Under the same sintering condition (1450ºC), a clinker based on the mixture of standard raw materials used in the Cement factory of Novi Popovac was sintered. By comparing the results of the chemical and XRD analysis of obtained Portland Cement clinkers, it was confirmed that it is possible to sinter Portland Cement clinker from the raw materials available from the Mining and Smelting Combine of Bor. By using the combination of the limestone (class - 8+4 mm), quartz sand from the plant and flotational tailings in the ratio of 81:18:1, the clinker whose mineralogical composition corresponds to the PC clinker obtained by sintering the raw materials used in the Cement Factory of 'Novi Popovac', was obtained. Obtained results indicate that the tailings generated by flotation of copper ore can be used in the cement industry; also, that the raw materials available from the Mining and Smelting Combine of Bor can be used to this purpose. .en
