AB  - Adsorption of arsenic (V) by natural zeolitic tuff, modified with iron (III), was investigated. Also, the iron (III) adsorption characteristics by natural zeolitic tuff was evaluated. It was determined that iron (III) adsorption by starting zeolitic tuff was best represented by the Freundlich type of isotherm, having correlation coefficient (r (2)) of 0.990. Arsenic (V) adsorption by iron (III)-modified zeolitic tuff followed a nonlinear type of isotherm. The best fit of the experimental data was obtained using the Langmuir-Freundlich model (r (2) = 0.99), with the estimated maximum of arsenic (V) adsorption to iron (III)-modified zeolitic tuff of 1.55 mg/g.

Ispitivanje mogućnosti dobijanja montmorilonita modifikovanog jonima bakra kao adsorbenta aflatoksina B1

AB  - U ovom radu su dati rezultati ispitivanja mogućnosti dobijanja materijala za adsorpciju aflatoksina B1 modifikacijom minerala montmorilonita jonima bakra. Ispitivanja su rađena na bentonitskoj glini koja se eksploatiše u ležištu Sokolac kod Šipova u Republici Srpskoj. Rezultati pokazuju da stepen jonske izmene neorganskih katjona u montmorilonitu jonima bakra raste sa porastom polazne količine bakra u rastvoru. Za ispitivanja adsorpcije aflatoksina B1 na montmorilonitu modifikovanom jonima bakra je odabran proizvod sa sadržajem bakra 2.65%. Određeno je da montmorilonit, kao i montmorilonit modifikovan jonima bakra efikasno adsorbuju aflatoksin B1, pri različitim sadržajima čvrste faze u suspenziji, kao i na različitim pH. Pri sadržaju čvrste faze u supenziji 10 g/l, indeks adsorpcije aflatoksina B1 na montmorilonitu iznosi 100% na pH 3, 98% na pH 7 i 96% na pH 9. Na montmorilonitu modifikovanom jonima bakra, pri istom količini čvrste faze u suspenziji, dobijene su sledeće vrednosti indeksa adsorpcije aflatoksina B1: 98% na pH 3, 98% na pH 7 i 96% na pH 9. Sa smanjenjem količine čvrste faze u suspenziji (0.5 g/l), ne dolazi do smanjenja indeksa adsorpcije ovog toksina na oba adsorbenta. To znači da, jonska izmena neorganskih katjona u koncentratu montmorilonita sa jonima bakra nije dovela do smanjenja indeksa adsorpcije aflatoksina B1, kako na pH 3, tako i na pH 7 i 9. Zapaženo je i da adsorpcija aflatoksina B1 na oba adsorbenta ne zavisi od pH sredine.
AB  - In this paper, the results of possibility for preparation of material for aflatoxin B1 adsorption, based on modification of montmorillonite with copper ions, re presented. The bentonite clay from Sokolac deposit (Šipovo, Bosnia) was used as the starting raw material. It was determined that ion exchange degree of inorganic cations in montmorillonite with copper ions increase with increasing the initial copper concentration in solution. The copper modified montmorillonite with 2.65% of copper was selected for aflatoxin B1 adsorption experiments. It was shown that montmorillonite, as well as the copper modified montmorillonite were efficient in adsorption of aflatoxin B1, at different amounts of solid phase in suspension, and at different pH values. Thus, at the amount of solid phase in suspension 10 g/l, aflatoxin B1 adsorption index for montmorillonite was 100% at pH 3, 98% at pH 7 and 96% at pH 9. For copper modified montmorillonite, at the same amount of solid phase the following aflatoxin B1 adsorption indexes were achieved: 98% at pH 3, 98% at pH 7 and 96% at pH 9. No differences in adsorption of this toxin by both montmorillonites with decreasing the amount of solid phase in suspension (0.5 g/l) were observed. That means that ion exchange of inorganic cations in montmorillonite with copper ions, did not cause any changes in aflatoxin B1 adsorption, at pH 3, as well as at pH 7 and 9. It was also noticed that adsorption of aflatoxin B1 by both adsorbents was not pH dependent.

AB  - U ovom radu uzorci kaolinita, montmorilonita i klinoptilolita su termički tretirani od 300 do 800ºC i praćena je promena njihovih osnovnih karakteristika kao što su: kapacitete katjonske izmene, adsorpcioni koeficijent metilen plavog i adsorpcija vode. Zapaženo je da sa povećavanjem temperature tretiranja dolazi do opadanja vrednosti kapacitete katjonske izmene, adsorpcioni koeficijent metilen plavog i adsorpcije vode. Prirodni i termički tretirani (700ºC) uzorci kaolinita, montmorilonita i klinoptilolita su modifikovani sa gvožđe(III)-hloridom i ispitana je adsorpcija arsenata na ovim uzorcima. Pokazano je da termičko tretiranje alumosilikatnih minerala nema veliki uticaj na modifikaciju sa gvožđem. Indeks adsorpcije arsenata za gvožđe(III)-modifikovane uzorke kaolinita, montmorilonita i klinoptilolita bez termičkog predtretmana, ima vrednosti: >99; 95 i >99 %, a sa termičkim predtretmanom minerala vrednosti su: >99; 90 i 90 %.
AB  - In this paper samples of kaolinite, montmorillonite and clinoptilolite were thermal treated in the temperature range from 300-800 ºC and the changes of basic characteristics, such as cation exchange capacity, adsorption coefficient of methylene blue and adsorption of water, were observed. By increasing of heating temperature these adsorption characteristics decrease. Untreated and thermal treated (700 ºC) samples of kaolinite, montmorillonite and clinoptilolite were modified using the solution of iron (III)-chloride and arsenate adsorption on these samples was investigated. The arsenate adsorption index for iron (III)-modified samples of kaolinite montmorillonite and clinoptilolite, without thermal treatment was >99; 95 and >99 %, and after thermal treatment of minerals: >99; 90 and 90 %, respectively.

AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja adsorpcije T-2 toksina na različitim mineralnim adsorbentima, zaolitu-klinoptilolitu kao i na smektitskoj grupi minerala - bentonitu i hektoritu. Polazni uzorci koji su korišćeni u eksperimantima adsorpcije okarakterisani su uobičajenim metodama kojima se određuje kvalitet alumosilikatnih minerala: rendgensko difrakcionom analizom praha (XRPD), određivanjem hemijskog sastava, kao i određivanjem vrste i sadržaja izmenjivih katjona. U preliminarnim eksperimentima (pH 3), po indeksu adsorpcije T-2 toksina (95%), ističe se mineral hektorit, dok je na prirodnom zeolitu i bentonitu, adsorpcija ovog toksina niska (8 i 13%, respektivno). Rezultati adsopcije T-2 toksina na hektoritu, pri različitim masenim odnosima adsorbent: toksin, pokazali su da indeks adsorpcije raste sa porastom sadržaja čvrste faze u suspenziji, kako na pH 3, tako i na pH 7 i 9. Pri promeni pH vrednosti sredine nisu uočene značajnije razlike u adsorpciji T-2 toksina na hektoritu.
AB  - The contamination of animal feed with mycotoxins represents a worldwide problem leading to economic losses in animal production. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 25% of the world's cereal grain production is contaminated with mycotoxins. The most common mycotoxins found in grains are the aflatoxins, ochratoxins, fumonisins, trichothecenes, zearalenone and the ergopeptine alkaloids. Trichothecenes, constitute the largest group of Fusarium mycotoxins. Among others, T-2 toxin is the most acute toxic trichothecene. In this paper, adsorption of T-2 toxin by natural mineral adsorbents zeolite-clinop-tilolite and smectite minerals - bentonite and hectorite, at pH 3 was investigated. The highest adsorption index was achieved for hectorite (95%), while clinoptilolite and bentonite showed low adsorption index for T-2 toxin, 8% and 13%, respectively. Results of T-2 toxin adsorption on hectorite, at different amount of solid phase in suspension, and at pH 3, 7 and 9, showed that toxin adsorption indexes increased with increase of adsorbent concentration in suspension, at all investigated pH values. No significant differences in T-2 toxin adsorption by hectorite, at pH 3, 7 and 9 were observed.

The highest adsorption index was achieved for hectorite (95%), while clinoptilolite and bentonite showed low adsorption index for T-2 toxin, 8% and 13%, respectively. Results of T-2 toxin adsorption on hectorite, at different amount of solid phase in suspension, and at pH 3, 7 and 9, showed that toxin adsorption indexes increased with increase of adsorbent concentration in suspension, at all investigated pH values. No significant differences in T-2 toxin adsorption by hectorite, at pH 3, 7 and 9 were observed.",

AB  - Prisustvo arsena u vodama predstavlja jedan od osnovnih faktora koji ograničavaju njeno korišćenje. U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati adsorpcije arsenata iz vodenih rastvora na modifikovanom prirodnom zeolitskom tufu (klinoptilolit). Klinoptilolit je modifikovan korišćenjem rastvora primarnih i kvaternarnih amina (organozeoliti), kao i FeCl3. U poređenju sa organozeolitima najveći indeks adsorpcije arsenata (>97%) je pokazao Fe-modifikovani klinoptilolit. Kinetička analiza adsorpcije arsenata na Fe-modifikovanom klinoptilolitu je pokazala da je adsorpcija veoma brza. Eksperimentalni podaci adsorpcije arsenata na Fe-modifikovanom klinoptilolitu su fitovani prema modelima različitih adsorpcionih izotermi, a najbolje slaganje eksperimentalnih rezultata je dobijeno korišćenjem Langmir-Frojndlihovog modela, sa koeficijentom slaganja od 0.99 .
AB  - Arsenic in natural water is of major concern to many of water utilities in the world. In this paper the results of the adsorption of arsenate from aqueous solutions on modified natural zeolitic tuff (clinoptilolite) are presented. Clinoptilolite was modified by using the solutions of primary and quaternary amine (organozeolites), as well as FeCl3. Compared to organozeolites, the highest arsenate adsorption index (>97%) was achieved with Femodified clinoptilolite. Kinetics analysis of arsenate adsorption by Fe-modified clinoptilolite begins very fast. AB  - Joni teških metala koji se javljaju u industrijskim otpadnim vodama predstavljaju veliki problem pri ispuštanju tih voda u prirodne rečne tokove. U ovom radu ispitivana je sposobnost uklanjanja Cu(II) jona iz vodenih rastvora adsorpcijom na zeolitu. Urađena je potpuna karakterizacija zeolita (rentgen, kapacitet katjonske izmene KKI i hemijska analiza). Ispitivanja su vršena na laboratorijskom nivou u stacionarnim uslovima. Ispitivan je uticaj veličine čestica zeolita, temperatura kao i brzine mešanja na efikasnost adsoprcije bakra na zeolitu. Prema važećim standardima za ispuštanje otpadnih voda u gradsku kanalizaciju, maksimalna dozvoljena koncentracija za bakar iznosi 2 mg/l, a u vodene tokove I i II klase 0, 1 mg/l [1].
AB  - Heavy metals are prior toxic pollutants in industrial wastewater and they represent a serious threat to human health, living resources and ecological systems. In this paper the ability of natural zeolite to remove copper from aqueous solution in batch reactors has been studied. Total characterization of the used zeolite is given in this paper (Roentgen, cation exchange capacity CEC and chemical analysis). In batch reactor, the effect of particle size, temperature, as well as the agitation speed on the copper removal has been studied. Maximum allowed copper concentration in water that can be released in sewage is 2mg/l [1]. .

AB  - Zahvaljujući negativnom naelektrisanju i poroznosti strukture, prirodne mineralne sirovine (gline i zeoliti) imaju široku primenu kao katjonski izmenjivači i molekulska sita. Dosadašnja istraživanja ukazuju na visoku efikasnost adsorpcije teških metala i drugih katjonskih zagađivača prisutnih u kontaminiranim vodama. Modifikacijom njihove površine mogu se dobiti aktivni adsorbenti za nepolarne i slabo polarne organske zagađivače kao i za neorganske anjone. Cilj ovog rada je da prikaže dosadašnje rezultate istraživanja koji mogu da posluže kao osnove za dalja ispitivanja vezanih za dobijanje novih adsorbenata za prečišćavanje zagađenih voda, kao i predstavljanje mogućnosti njihove primene.
AB  - Due to permanent negative charges on their surfaces, clay minerals and zeolites are used a lot as cationic exchanger and molecular sieves. Investigations showed a high efficiency for adsorption of heavy metal and other cation contaminants presented in waters. These materials are suitable to be modified by cationic surfactants to enhance sorption of nonionic organic compounds as well as inorganic anions. Investigation results may served as a base for application the mineral adsorbents for industrial water purification.
