AB  - Potassium and ammonium salts are necessary to meet the nutritional needs of crops. While the granulation of these materials has traditionally been done by roller compaction, the demand for a rounder and less angular product has led some fertilizer manufacturers to introduce an additional production line to their operations: pelletization (wet granulation) with a disc pelletizer. This paper presents possible alternatives in the production process of potassium and ammonium sulfate fertilizers, provided by the pelletization process.

AB  - Technical-building stone is a carbonate raw material that has unlimited potential in Montenegro and is one of the most important mineral raw materials. A special valorization of rocks with a carbonate composition, primarily limestone, is the production of carbonate fillers and their application in various branches of industry. The paper presents the results of multi-year geological investigations of the limestone deposits of Platac, the established reserves, the quality and the possibility of applying limestone.

AB  - This paper presents results of investigations of the possibility of using “Glavatske Kuće”-Kotor limestone (Montenegro) as filler in various industry branches. Micronization methods, granulometric composition, oil and water absorption and degree of whiteness were investigated, and chemical and thermal analyses (DT/TG) were performed. Physico-chemical properties of this limestone classify it among high quality carbonate raw materials with relatively high CaCO3 content of 97.68 %, as well as low MgCO3 content of 1.849 % and low silicate content (SiO2 0.24 %). Its quality satisfies requirements of standards on using of calcium carbonate as filler in industry of paints and coatings; glass industry; foundry industry; sugar industry and metallurgy. Due to the low degree of whiteness (77,85 %) “Glavatske Kuće” limestone cannot be used in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry, paper industry. Because of increased MgO content, limestone “Glavatske kuće” cannot be used in the fertilizers industry. Due to relatively high content of heavy metals, Cu (47 ppm), Ni (50 ppm) and Cd (8 ppm), as well as biogenic elements P2O5 (0.0234 %), K2O (0,0157 %), “Glavatske Kuće” limestone cannot be used in production of cattle feed and for neutralization of acidic soils.

AB  - U ovom radu je prikazan deo tehnoloških ispitivanja koja su u ITNMS-u obavljena na 5 vrsta uzoraka (3 rovna i dva kompozita) bentonita iz ležišta „Bijelo polje “- Opština Bar. Bentonit iz ležišta „Bijelo Polje“-Bar je Ca-bentonit, i u okviru tehnoloških ispitivanja definisani su I utvrđivani uslovi njegove aktivacije i prevođenja u alkalno aktivirani Na-oblik. U radu su takođe prikazani ispitivanja mogućnosti primene neaktiviranih i aktiviranih uzoraka bentonita u livnicama. Tehnološka ispitivanja mogućnosti primene bentonita „Bijelo Polje“ – Bar u metalurgiji su obavljena u Laboratoriji za kontrolu kvaliteta sirovina i finalnih proizvoda fabrike bentonita TD ,, BENTOMAK,, - Kriva Palanka – Ginovci (S. Makedonija). Parametri kvaliteta odredjeni su saglasno postojećim ISO, ASTM, EN kao i ex-Yu standardu JUS B.F1.040 koji se odnosi na bentonite za izradu kalupa i jezgara za livenje svih vrsta odlivaka.

Limestone of „Međeđe“ Nikšić as filer in various industries

AB  - This paper presents the results of testing the possibility of using limestone from the „Međeđe“ - Nikšić
deposit in different industries. During the examination, the coarse moisture, chemical composition,
granulometric composition, bulk and particle density, degree of whiteness, oil and water absorption,
granulometric composition of micronized samples and specific surface area were determined. All tests
were performed on 8 samples taken from different parts of the deposit and the mean values of the
obtained results are presented here. Based on the physico-chemical characteristics, it can be stated that
this limestone has a high content of CaO and CaCO3 of 99.01%, as well as a relatively low content of
MgO of 0.32% and a low content of SiO2 of 0.26% and alkali and R2O3, with also low content of heavy
metals, which is very favorable for limestone. With these physico-chemical properties, this limestone
can be used in the following industries: paints and varnishes, paper, rubber and PVC, foundry and
foundry industry, sugar industry, metallurgical purposes, glass production, animal feed production and
mineral fertilizer production. A serious defect of „Međeđa“ limestone is the low degree of whiteness,
which does not exceed 89.6%, which prevents its use in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries,
while the relatively high content of K2O, Fe and Mn prevents its use in calcification of acid soils.

AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja mogućnosti primene krečnjaka iz ležišta Međeđe-Nikšić u različitim granama industrije. Prilikom ispitivanja krečnjaka određena je vlaga, hemijski sastav, granulometrijski sastav, nasipna masa, specifična zapreminska masa, stepen beline, upijanje ulja i vode, granulometrijski sastav mikronizovanih uzoraka i specifična površina. Sva ispitivanja su obavljena na 8 uzoraka uzetih iz različitih delova ležišta a u radu su prikazane srednje vrednosti dobijenih rezultata. Na osnovu fizičko-hemijskih karakteristika može se konstatovati da krečnjak iz ovog ležišta ima visok sadržaj CaO i CaCO3 od 99,01%, relativno nizak sadržaj MgO od 0,32%, nizak sadržaj SiO2 od 0,26%, alkalija i R2O3, kao i nizak sadržaj teških metala, što je veoma povoljno za primenu krečnjak. Sa ovim fizičko-hemijskim karakteristikama, ispitivani krečnjak se može koristiti u sledećim granama industrije: boja i lakova, papira, guma i PVC, livarstvo i livnička industrija, industrija šećera, metalurgija, proizvodnja stakla, proizvodnja stočne hrane i proizvodnja mineralnih đubriva. Ozbiljna mana krečnjaka iz ležišta Međeđe je nizak stepen beline, koji ne prelazi 89,6%, što onemogućava njegovu upotrebu u farmaceutskoj i hemijskoj industriji, dok relativno visok sadržaj K2O, Fe i Mn sprečava njegovu primenu za kalcifikaciju kiselih zemljišta.
AB  - This paper presents the results of testing the possibility of using limestone from the "Međeđe" - Nikšić deposit in different industries. During the examination, the coarse moisture, chemical composition, granulometric composition, bulk and particle density, degree of whiteness, oil and water absorption, granulometric composition of micronized samples and specific surface area were determined. All tests were performed on 8 samples taken from different parts of the deposit and the mean values of the obtained results are presented here. Based on the physico-chemical characteristics, it can be stated that this limestone has a high content of CaO and CaCO3 of 99.01%, as well as a relatively low content of MgO of 0.32% and a low content of SiO2 of 0.26% and alkali and R2O3, with also low content of heavy metals, which is very favorable for limestone. With these physico-chemical properties, this limestone can be used in the following industries: paints and varnishes, paper, rubber and PVC, foundry and foundry industry, sugar industry, metallurgical purposes, glass production, animal feed production and mineral fertilizer production. A serious defect of "Međeđa" limestone is the low degree of whiteness, which does not exceed 89.6%, which prevents its use in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, while the relatively high content of K2O, Fe and Mn prevents its use in calcification of acid soils.

AB  - This paper presents results of investigations of the possibility of using “Pješivački Do”-Danilovgradlimestone as filler in various industry branches. Micronization methods, granulometric composition, oil and water absorption and degree of whiteness were investigated, and chemical and thermal analyses (DT/TG) were performed.Physico- chemical properties of this limestone classify it among high quality carbonate raw materials with high CaCO3 content of 98.65%, as well as low MgCO3 content of 0.95% and low silicate content (SiO2 0.23%). Its quality satisfies requirements of standards on using of calcium carbonate as filler in industry of paints and coatings; paper industry; rubber and PVC industry; in production of cattle feed; glass industry; production of mineral fertilizers and sugar industry. Due to the low degree of whiteness (87,6%) Pješivački Do”limestone cannot be used in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. Due to relatively high content of Cr (10 ppm) as heavy metal, content of S (0,19%), as well as biogenic elements P2O5 (0.030%), “Pješivački Do” limestone cannot be used in, foundry industry and metallurgy and for neutralization of acidic soils.

AB  - U rudnom telu rudnika „Grot“-Kriva Feja kod Vranja, povremeno se pojavljuje ruda sa veoma visokim sadržajem minerala olova (Pb) i cinka (Zn). Iz ovakve rude je zbog visokog sadržaja metaličnih minerala 85-90 %, praktično nemoguće dobiti koncentrate K/Pb i K/Zn, postupkom flotacijske koncentracije, koji je osnovni definisani postupak dobijanja koncentrata u ovom rudniku. U radu je prikazano ispitivanje mogućnosti dobijanja koncentrata K/Pb i K/Zn postupkom gravitacijske koncentracije, sitnih klasa na klatnom stolu Wilfley. U radu su detaljno opisani način pripreme rude, eksperimentalni uslovi i sam postupak izvođenja opita gravitacijske koncentracije.

AB  - Because of its physico-mechanical and physico-chemical characteristics, fine-ground (i.e. micronized) limestone is widely applied in the production of new materials. Limestone can be used as a filler, coating and/or powder in ceramic composites. The effect of its fine micronization depends on the type of equipment used and on the disintegration process. In this study, the emphasis was placed on investigation of the kinetics of the dry micronization milling of limestone in a state-of-the-art ultra-centrifugal mill with a peripheral comminuting path. The efficiency of the ultra-centrifugal mill with a peripheral comminuting path was determined based on a detailed investigation of the limestone dry micronization, which satisfied all the requirements for technological parameters as well as for micronized product parameters. On the basis of the investigation of these parameters and theory of dry micronization conducted in a state-of-the-art mill with use of advanced instrumental techniques for determination and observation of the most significant physical and chemical characteristics, a kinetics model was developed to serve as the basis for quick and effective determination of micronization quality and efficiency. In this paper, the results of grinding in a Retsch ZM-1 ultra-centrifugal mill were analyzed in order to optimize and automate the process of ultrafine micronization.

AB  - U ovom radu su predstavljeni rezultati ispitivanja mogućnosti korišćenja krečnjaka iz mesta Gigovići kod Ulcinja (Republika Crna Gora) kao punioca u različitim granama industrije. Ispitivani su metodi mikronizacije, granulometrijski sastav, stepen apsorpcije ulja i vode i stepen beline, a izvršena je i hemijska i termalna analiza (DT/TG). Fizičko-hemijske osobine ovog krečnjaka svrstavaju ga u karbonatne sirovine visokog kvaliteta sa relativno visokim sadržajem CaCO3, 98,16 %, i niskim sadržajem MgCO3, 1,53 %, i silikata (0,30 % SiO2). Njegov kvalitet zadovoljava standarde za korišćenje kalcijum-karbonata kao punioca u industriji boja i premaza, u papirnoj industriji, u proizvodnji gume i PVC-a, u industriji stakla, u proizvodnji veštačkog đubriva, u livarstvu i metalurgiji. Zbog niskog stepena beline krečnjak 'Gigovići' ne može da se koristi u farmaciji i kozmetičkoj industriji. Zbog visokog sadržaja MgO (0.73 %) i Fe (340 ppm), kao i visokog sadržaja teških metala, Cu (18 ppm), Ni (24 ppm) i Cd (9 ppm), krečnjak 'Gigovići' ne može da se koristi u proizvodnji stočne hrane i za neutralizaciju kiselih zemljišta.
AB  - This paper presents results of investigations of the possibility of using 'Gigovići'-Ulcinj limestone (Republic Montenegro) as filler in various industry branches. Micronization methods, granulometric composition, oil and water absorption and degree of whiteness were investigated, and chemical and thermal analyses (DT/TG) were performed. Physico-chemical properties of this limestone classify it among high quality carbonate raw materials with relatively high CaCO3 content of 98.16 %, as well as low MgCO3 content of 1.53 % and low silicate content (SiO2 0.30 %). Its quality satisfies requirements of standards on using of calcium carbonate as filler in industry of paints and coatings; paper industry, rubber and PVC industry; glass industry; production of mineral fertilizers; foundry industry; sugar industry and metallurgy. Due to the low degree of whiteness (85.25 %) 'Gigovići' limestone cannot be used in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. Due to relatively high content of MgO (0.73 %) and Fe (340 ppm), as well as high content of heavy metals, Cu (18 ppm), Ni (24 ppm) and Cd (9 ppm), 'Gigovići' limestone cannot be used, in production of cattle feed and for neutralization of acidic soils.

AB  - Carbonate filler is an important mineral commodity, with rather diverse industrial applications. The Bjelopavlici area in Montenegro is rich in chemically pure limestone, which was preliminary explored in the field, and further its mineralogical, petrographic, geochemical and technological properties were studied. The obtained results have proven the high quality of limestone from the studied deposits, as it can be used for paints and varnishes, rubber and plastics, metallurgy, foundry, sugar, fertilizers and animal feed industry. Several deposits have very pure limestone, that can be also used for paper, glass, pharmaceutical industry and soil neutralisation. The potential resources of high quality limestone are around 23 million tons.

Usage of the fine grained limestone for neutralization of acid soil- application of pelletizing metods

AB  - The rapid progress of industry, worldwide, as well as here, results in increasing of acid soil. According to some researches, about 60% of our soil is acid and requires neutralization that is done by the means of grinded limestone, what is customary. Its inconvenience for use in this shape regarding the atmospheric conditions, particularly-the wind inspired our attempts to agglomerate it. By the process of pelletizing, limestone can be successfully pelletized into size as chemical fertilizers.
